Welcome to Memories of Saturday. My name is Junita R., people call me Maya/Made. However, my screen name is Misswhadevr/MD. BEHIND EVERY PHOTOGRAPHER..

Thursday, September 24, 2009

.. there's a silly photographer that loves to capture his/her action. IDK, but that silly photographer must be.. me. I've found it interesting.. seriously. LOL. Dunno why.

On Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009, I went to the place-whose-location-shall-not-be-mentioned to take some picture with my cousins and a hi skool friend. Abusing my camera for sure. Meet my cousin, Sasha (above), and her oldest brother Bang Yuda (in red), and my hi skool friend Aji (in black), who currently working together with Bang Yuda's photography project in Surabaya, EJ (note: What a small world it is!).

Well, I guess for the first time ever, I AM really busy. I mean, really busy and not just thinking or saying I am busy. I feel like I have 3 jobs now: an employee, a postgraduate student, and a friend. Oh, and don't forget about being a daughter & sister, and a good ex-girlfriend. So I guess that is FIVE jobs. Sadly, photography is out-of-the-top-five priority on a daily basis, but if I get a friggin' long holiday from office and Uni again.. you know what I'm going to do at first.

Now that a-week holiday's almost over, I gotta wear my employee and postgrad student hats back on.

IMPROMPTU SHOTS - MISS SABINE.

Photographing a girl like her was a total dream. She was so adventurous and totally energetic. So who's her?

Meet Sabine, a 9 year-old girl whom I met when I was walking alone, spending my afternoon at Clarke Quay, Singapore, on Sunday, August the 16th. I know I'm over a month late this time, considering I have to wait her mom's approval to upload her photos to this blog (and her mom didn't reply my e-mail.. yet). Thank you Miss Sabine and her mom. I had a fabulous 5 minutes with you! :)

Please give attention to ISO speed!

"PUKED" ALL OVER AN ASHTRAY.

Saturday, June 27, 2009

The landscape one is not my most favorite shot, but I just wanted to show you how an ashtray reminds you about the "dangers of smoking" :) (it's written in Bahasa). Wanna see my other favorite of today's shot, aside of the portrait one? See this [link]. I guess some of you just yelled, "Oh JR you're so ridiculous (because it is not THAT beautiful)!". LOL.

So, here, I'm gonna talk a little about my photography career. I just got accepted in a consulting company and now I'm working as a junior consultant (in probation period). I am happy, and I'm thrilled that I've found a regular job. BUT, being away from my cameras makes me feel like I've lost 50% of my soul. I think I left my heart in my cameras. I LOVE photography, I LOVE my cameras, but as for now I have to grow up and enter the real life. Transition phase IS hard - and kind of mental torture.

From Monday to Friday, I work 8 hours per day (excluding 1 hour of lunch break) and spend 1.5 + 2 hours a day in my car door-to-door between home and office - that is like 70% of my waking time per day, but overall it's okay. That's how the real life treats you, right? :) Thus I almost impossible to touch my cameras on the workdays, but, hey, that's why there is always the weekends! I just got home from Saturday afternoon coffee with my friends Nadya, and I brought my camera, and I captured that ashtray ;)

I AM NOT going to leave photography world! I'm gonna keep diggin' my talent and practicing ;) I promise myself :)
